Rhyanne
Clegg-Hughes

Focusing on textiles and sculpture Rhyanne’s approach explores the Anthropocene and the coexistence of the natural world and the urban landscape. Their practice has roots in the idea that nature will always reclaim what humanity has taken from the planet. Rhyanne’s work echos the delicate time-consuming nature of growth and the natural world, through the strenuous, inherently womanly, labour of hand embroidery. They contrast textile works with the solid, hard forms of plaster and wood in geometric forms to imitate the man-made. Rhyanne brings these elements together to form a narrative of our future as humans in our world.
